About the Teachers
One of our local instructors is
Diane Peters.
In a nutshell, Diane loves dance and how it enhances our lives. She loves
to teach and spread the joy of dance. Diane managed a large, successful
dance studio in Minneapolis. She has taught teachers how to teach and
hundreds of students to dance. Since moving to Sandpoint she has been
teaching group classes and private lessons, using the Sandpoint West Athletic
Club (non-club members are welcome). She teaches all the
ballroom dances, Swing,
Latin and Salsa. Diane also
enjoys working with her performance team, a group of dancers who learn a
choreographed routine. The team has performed at many of our dances and
local charity events.
Singles, couples, beginners and dancers who would like to brush up on their
skills are welcome in her classes. Partners are not required. All ages are
welcome. Dress comfortably and remember that no outside shoes are allowed

Argentine Tango is taught by
Robin Cambell. Tango is a wonderful dance
with almost infinite step variations reflecting the rhythmically rich and

Anne
Wilder Chamberlain has been dancing for over 12 years and teaching
swing and ballroom since 2000. She completed the ballroom instructor
training course at Spokane Dance Company in the spring of 2006 and has been
teaching at DanceWorks in Priest River and the Eagles in Newport ever since. She
has performed routines in Salsa, Rumba, Swing and Hustle in numerous shows,
participated on a Latin dance team at Avalon Dance Club in Spokane, and competed
in both swing and ballroom, having received one second prize in swing and
several "1st place" awards for her division in ballroom. She has been
choreographing routines for DanceWorks students since 2006.
Anne's DanceWorks classes are beginning and beyond, at varying times, and in
varying dances. Classes run from September through December, January to June,
and summer sessions. Cost is $10 per class with 20% discount if students pay by
the month (preferred). At the Eagles Club in Newport she teaches beginning level
dance on a drop-in basis on Thursday nights at 7PM, with a new dance every
month. She offers private lessons in nearly every social dance by

Eric
and Tammy Allen are the only dance instructors here in Spokane who
teach, compete and judge west coast swing at regional and national west coast
swing competitions. They are two of the topped ranked West Coast Swing dancers
in the Inland Northwest competing in Professional, All-Star and Invitational
divisions. They have competed all over the United States and into Canada; twice
competing and placing in the top 10 at the US Open Swing Dance Championships.
They are also 2 time North West Regional West Coast Swing Champions. Eric and
Tammy are often invited to teach and judge at different dance events around the
Northwest.
Eric Allen has been dancing for over 20 years and has been teaching Swing,
Country, Ballroom, and Latin dancing to couples since 1995. While Favoring West
Coast Swing, he and Tammy teach other dances as well. Night Club 2-Step, Country
2-Step, East Coast Swing, Cha Cha, Waltz, Fox Trot, and Hustle are some of the
other dances they teach.
Eric and Tammy love to share their joy of dance with others, and are always
happy to dance with anyone who asks. They teach a beginning dance class every
Thursday night from 6 to 7 PM at the Southside Sr. Center in Spokane and are
also available for private and group lessons by appointment.

Roger Carney has been teaching dancing for
many years and is one of the most entertaining of instructors. He inserts
an element of fun into his teaching that expresses the joy of dancing.
He teaches at the Eagles in Spokane as well as the senior centers in the area.
He will also be teaching here in Sandpoint at our July dance. (509)

Wayne Jensen, known affectionately around the area as "West
Coast Wayne," this former skydiver turned in his parachute for a pair of
dance boots in 1992. Wayne began his dance education by learning country
line dancing, then two step and West Coast swing. Wayne was one of the first members of the Spokane Swing Dance
club and teach lead and follow dance moves for the social dancer. He teaches at
several local clubs as well as workshops for many Northwest clubs.
He has competed and placed 1st in West Coast swing and 3rd in country
two-step in his first competition, and many others since then. Wayne
danced on a float in the Rose Parade and performed with Michael Jackson at the
Super Bowl. He considers it to be a high compliment to his teaching to see
people he has instructed out enjoying themselves on the dance floor.

Christina Rosman started her dancing
while attending Gonzaga University. She danced with many different partners and
felt that they helped her to learn. The experience she had at Gonzaga
helped shape her success with the dancing community. She was the president
of the social dance club at GU and went on to open Avalon Dance Studio.
She brought in some of the world's best instructors in country western,
swing and ballroom dancing. Her students went on to form an active USABDA
chapter in Spokane. She takes pride in the success of her students and
teaches at Sandpoint events as well as other area events. Christina
