One of our local
instructors is Diane Peters. In a nutshell, Diane loves dance and
how it enhances our lives. She loves to teach and spread the joy
of dance. Diane
managed a large, successful dance studio in Minneapolis. She has
taught teachers how to teach and hundreds of students to dance. Since
moving to Sandpoint she has been teaching group classes and
private lessons, using the Dance Works studio in Kootenai. She
teaches all the ballroom dances, swing, Latin and Salsa.
She also enjoys working with her performance team, a
group of dancers who learn a choreographed routine. The team has
performed at many of our dances and local charity events. Singles,
couples, beginners and dancers who would like to brush up on their
skills are welcome in her classes.

| In
Coeur d'Alene, attend the Argentine Tango "Practica"
facilitated by Robin Campbell, George Minas and Jerry and Diana Balavage.
A "Practica" is an informal dance event where both teaching
and dancing take place with more experienced dancers helping
beginners. The last Tuesday of the month is a "Milonga"
- all dancing with no formal teaching. Tango is a wonderful dance
with almost infinite step variations reflecting the rhythmically rich
and passionate music. The group is friendly and loves to share
tango! |

Known
affectionately around the area as "West Coast Wayne,"
this former skydiver turned in his parachute for a pair of dance boots
in 1992. Wayne began his dance education by learning country line
dancing, then two step and West Coast swing.
Wayne Jensen, was one of
the first members of the Spokane Swing Dance club and teach lead and
follow dance moves for the social dancer. He teaches at several local
clubs as well as workshops for many Northwest clubs.
He has competed and placed 1st in West Coast
swing and 3rd in country two-step in his first competition,
and many others since then.
Wayne danced on a float in the Rose Parade and
performed with Michael Jackson at the Super Bowl. He considers it to
be a high compliment to his teaching to see people he has instructed, out
enjoying themselves on the dance floor. |

| Christina
Rosman started her dancing while attending Gonzaga University.
She danced with many different partners and felt that they helped her to
learn. The experience she had at Gonzaga helped shape her success
with the dancing community. She was the president of the social
dance club at GU and went on to open Avalon Dance Studio.
She brought in some of the world's best instructors in country
western, swing and ballroom dancing. Her students went on to form
an active USABDA chapter in Spokane.
She takes pride in the success of her students and teaches at Sandpoint events as well as other area events. |
